📋 Entry Requirements

An NQF level 7 qualification in an appropriate design discipline with an average of 60% for the final year of study. For students who are not Inscape graduates, in addition to meeting the above requirements, a portfolio of design work from their specialist field must be submitted. A letter of motivation where you outline your initial proposal and intention for a final project, for instance, exploring how illustration can be used in health awareness poster design, or how decolonisation has influenced fashion design, of proximately 1500 words. Inscape subscribes to the National Policy for the Implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) developed by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in co-operation with the policies of RPL, CAT and Assessment in Higher Education developed by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). RPL permits you to gain access to formal programs offered by INSCAPE based on the level and extent of your knowledge. Your prior learning will be measured against our specified and prescribed learning outcomes. RPL would be considered for students who do not meet the entry requirements stated above, only if they have worked and accumulated informal learning for a minimum of two years. For instance, have worked in their design field at a company for two years. They will be expected to provide a portfolio of this work as well as other relevant documents and references. They may be asked to complete an assessment.
